Östgöta Dal, is the southern part between the town, Vättern, Omberg and Tåkern. Dal - Sweden's granary - is an ancient cultural landscape with some of Sweden's oldest medieval stone churches. The landscape with its drumlins and moraines was shaped by the last ice age. Here you live near the city but also close to the breathtaking landscape of Omberg and Tåkern.
Lake Vättern offers scenic camping right on the shores of Lake Vättern, close to the town centre. There are around 400 camping pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents, as well as cottages of various sizes. Facilities include easy access to a bathing beach, activities for children and proximity to Vadstena’s historic attractions.
